Several years ago my sister Doris told me she wished God would let her see into the future. I responded that the Lord may not let us see down the line because we could not handle tomorrow's difficulties today. The very next day my sister called me, crying. Her husband, Larry, had been laid off, a victim of corporate downsizing. It's no easy thing to be unwanted: by an employer, a spouse, a child, a parent, a friend, or a fiancé.Psalm 61 appears to have been written during a time when David was banished, an exile from his son Absalom. (See 2 Samuel 15–18.)...

Shepherd: It sounds like you are in a vehicle. Where are you traveling from?Dr. Boles: I just participated in a press conference, where we stood in front of an unlicensed, unregulated abortion clinic in Nashville. They recently...

WASHINGTON D.C. (Worthy News)– The White House is considering two central requirements in deciding which of the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants would gain protections through an expected executive action: a minimum length of time in the U.S., and a person's family ties to others in the country, said people familiar with the administration's thinking, the Wall Street Journal reported. Those requirements, depending on how broadly they are drawn, could offer protection to between one million and four million people in the country illegally. The deliberations follow President Barack Obama's promise to act to change the immigration system, after legislation overhauling immigration...

WASHINGTON D.C. (Worthy News)– The annual number of "great" earthquakes nearly tripled over the last decade, providing a reminder to Americans that unruptured faults like those in the northwest United States might be due for a Big One, NBC News reported. Between 2004 and 2014, 18 earthquakes with magnitudes of 8.0 or more rattled subduction zones around the globe. That's an increase of 265 percent over the average rate of the previous century, which saw 71 great quakes, according to a report to the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America this week in Vancouver, British Columbia. It's clear that recent...

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent BEIJING (Worthy News)– About 4 a.m. on Oct. 17, hundreds of uniformed Chinese agents blocked all the entrances to Kaiyang village, then climbed over the Kaiyang Church wall, broke into the church building and forcibly removed its cross. International Christian Concern also reported that two other church crosses in Zhejiang Province were removed that same day. This campaign of church cross removal has been carried out by China's Zhejiang provincial government for more than six months. Now, the only cross left belongs to Zengshan Church in Pingyang County, but nearly one hundred Christians are guarding it. Zhejiang's...
